7 - The Great Outdoors

Open the door or window and look outside.
What's something you're grateful for outside?

Ahh, the irony of my least favorite thing falling on my favorite number. lol  My first thought was of this meme Chet sent me recently... (although the fake spiders on that wall are a disturbing addition).

But seriously, while my fear and hatred of most bugs is very real, my appreciation of the outdoors and the beauty God created for us in every season has grown exponentially over time.  And I can't deny there are positive health benefits to being outdoors - our bodies and souls respond well to the expansiveness of nature and getting away from all the screens for a bit.  I love summer swims, going for walks, seeing cute animals, the new growth of spring, the vibrant colors of fall, the snowy days of winter, watching the niece and nephews play, etc.

If I had to narrow it down to one thing about the outdoors that I am most grateful for, it would be WATER... with all my heart and soul, I love the calming effect of being outside near any body of water -- yes, that includes pools, but especially ponds, fountains, beaches, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, oceans, etc.  The sight of it, the sound of it, and how it feels.  So here are some of my very favorite outdoor memories, keeping that theme in mind. =)

Hudson River cruise, Niagara Falls, Mom and Dad's pool, and the Bellagio fountains - yusssss, please!

JoBug's pool + Bellagio + The Lake of Frogs and Dreams #Wynning
*The Venetian river below is actually indoors - I got caught up in looking for water pictures and forgot the outdoor theme for a sec. lol

Poolside pizza party at JoBug's! lol  How cute are they!?

Parasailing + Big Cedar waterfall + Cozumel cruise + Grand Lake boat ride + Wilson pool party!

Helicopter pic + Ziplining over Niagara, Mom and Dad's pool, Mandalay Bay Lazy River, and Central Park Lake

Sunset walk at Daytona beach (looking out at the Atlantic ocean), the Moore Central Park pond (yay for Station walks here and Crescent Park walks in Tulsa!), and the lovely pond at Colorado Christian

So many more where that came from, but you get the picture. =)
