For the next seven days, I'm posting what I call my "Power Thoughts" for each day. It's one page per day, and I recorded videos of me reading them out loud (around 3-4 minutes per day). I've been listening to them every morning as I get ready for work as a part of my morning routine. My hope is that it will engrain these truths more and more firmly in my mind, reprogramming my thinking to be more aligned with God! (The first and last paragraph are the same every day, and the rest of it is unique for that day.)
MONDAY
Jesus, You are Lord. I belong to You, and I belong with You. I love and trust You with all my heart. Today is the day You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!! I give everyone and everything that’s on my heart today to YOU, Lord!
God, You are good! You are with me and for me at all times. You see me and care for me, and You meet all my needs abundantly. You are kind, and You never withhold good things that are beneficial to my life! Thank You for giving me a spirit of power and love, and a sound mind with self-discipline!
The Holy Spirit lives in me, so I take good care of myself. I enjoy healthy foods, quality sleep, and regular exercise. I look good, I feel good, and I live with freedom and joy here! From the inside out, I am alive and glowing with radiant health!
I lead a life of integrity, avoiding anything vile or vulgar. I reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I do not engage in slander and gossip. I don’t use foul or abusive language. I speak with humility, and I seek faithful friendships.
My heart comes alive when I connect hurting people with God’s love. I listen well, I validate their pain, I offer comfort, and I empower them to move forward in the strength of Christ. I come alive when I write from the heart, words that encourage and strengthen people! I am an advocate for those who are oppressed or abused. I work with the Holy Spirit to restore faith, hope, and love! I come alive when my body, soul, and spirit are aligned in the pursuit of health and strength!
I am a new creature in Christ: the old nature has passed away, and all things are made new in Him. I am dead to sin and alive to righteousness. No weapon that is formed against me will prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, I will show to be in the wrong! I am vitally united with Christ, and all spiritual blessings are mine. God’s Spirit lives in me, so my wounds can all be healed, my brokenness can always be repaired, and I can be liberated from every binding habit!
God is both epic and intimate, universally powerful and deeply personal. God delights in the details of my life. He is sovereign over every global event, and over all the events of my life. He times things with great care and precision and divine authority. There is a purpose in every event and person in my life - past, present, and future. Father, You are my God. My future is in Your hands!
My soul is nourished when I am kind, but it is destroyed when I am cruel. I speak truth in love. My words are good and helpful, encouraging those who hear them.
May Your Kingdom come, Lord. May Your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
