This week, I am posting what I call my "Power Thoughts" for each day. I recorded videos of me reading them out loud (around 3-4 minutes per day), and I've been listening to them every morning as I get ready for work as a part of my morning routine. My hope is that it will engrain these truths more and more firmly in my mind, reprogramming my thinking to be more aligned with God! (The first and last paragraph are the same every day, and the rest of it is unique for that day.)
THURSDAY
Jesus, You are Lord. I belong to You, and I belong with You. I love and trust You with all my heart. Today is the day You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!! I give everyone and everything that’s on my heart today to YOU, Lord!
I am present, attentive, and emotionally engaged in my relationships. I add unique value to the lives of my friends and family. I have proven grit and resilience, and I am continuing to learn and grow as I walk with God. I choose to hold space to see, hear, understand, and empathize with others. I am willing to stick with people and work through relational conflict, and I believe in the power of open communication and sincere encouragement. I am also fully empowered to leave truly unhealthy situations. I am unwilling to cling to relationships with people who refuse to communicate, change, and grow together.
I know my value. I am confident and empowered to command respect from others! I am willing to apologize, to ask for help when needed, and to forgive. I view my relationships as collaboration and teamwork. I am kindhearted and generous, but I am never responsible for the feelings or fears of others. I refuse to take on false guilt or help in any way that causes me to feel resentful. I listen well and validate the emotions of others. I am attentive to their unique needs and personalities.
I invest my time and energy in cultivating healthy relationships. I believe my friends and family members are fully capable of moving through their own pain and crisis situations. I support them and gladly help when they express any need, but I avoid overstepping or projecting my emotions onto their situation. I build family relationships and friendships characterized by mutual love and respect. I speak up to avoid damaging gossip and triangulation. I am a trustworthy friend who treats people well and honors Christ in my conversations.
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and He knows
and loves me personally. The enemy has no
hold on my life. I catch and cast
down every lie, believing God’s Word and clinging to truth. I am changing for the better, learning and
growing, moving toward the dreams God has placed in my heart! I am a treasured child of God living an abundant
life. I have a bright future, and God is
with me every step of the way! There is
no condemnation in Christ. I am completely
forgiven, set free from bondage to sin and shame. I have compassion and understanding for all
people.
I choose love, empathy, and forgiveness.
My heart is open to hear from God. My heart is good soil, and my life will produce good and lasting fruit! My soul is anchored by the firm and secure hope set before me… that Jesus is coming back for His church, and I will be ready for Him!
May Your Kingdom come, Lord. May Your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
