Be still, my soul. The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below...
Be still my soul; Thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.
~Be Still My Soul
Today, I am thankful for a strong community of friends!! As I listened to several of the lifegroup girls share their testimonies, I was struck over and over by the importance of the friends we choose, and the importance of how we treat our friends. So many lives were transformed because a friend invited them to youth group or because friends were there for them through a dark season and kept them on track. I am thankful for the myriad of Godly, wise, funny, encouraging, kind, genuine, loyal friends in my life! I'm thankful for the women's lifegroup and the fun times and great Bible studies we've done together. I'm grateful for the friendships that are so comfortable and easy and natural to me, for friends who know my family and I know theirs. Talking to Bill & Melissa (Karli's parents) then to Teresa, Michael, and Baylee (Chet's mom, brother, and sister-in-law) around the fire pit last weekend made me happy thinking about that! I am especially thankful for Chet Lee, Jeffrey Edward, Tiffany Joanne, Jenna Lee, Laura Allison, Karli Marie, Angie, Elizabeth, Kelly, and Kristin! There are hard things in life that we don't understand, and there is a lot of waiting on God's answers and timing, no matter who you are or what season of life you're in -- but it is immensely helpful to have solid friendships that make those seasons sweeter and give you lasting memories and keep you spiritually sharp and close to Christ!!
All of the questions, the secret confessions -
Lord, You’ll make sense of it all.
And I know You’ll show up,
So I’m letting go of these these thoughts that are taking control.
This is the waiting.
I anxiously wait as I hold on to love that won’t ever let go.
And in these times when my patience is tested,
Won’t you remind me that I’m not alone
Here in the waiting.
