Today = "Bullet your whole day."
Here goes...
- Got up and drove to Midwest City
- Met the fam at Del Rancho for Mother's Day lunch
- Back home for a few minutes so Mom could take care of Babah
- Rode with Mom, Dad, and Kyndal to the hospital to see Grandad (Rach and the boys met us there)
- Stacked puzzles with T&K while C&J played dominoes with Grandad
- Grandad asked me, "How's your love life?" for the first time in years or maybe ever, which seemed out of character but so many things are out of the norm these days, and I just answered "Uneventful!" and left it at that.
- Rode with Rach to take T&C to meet Brooke and be with her for the rest of Mother's Day
- Went with Mom and Dad to pick up Babah's car at Babah and Grandad's house
- Talked with Mom and JB about the best medical care options for B&G
- J&K came over to swim (way too cold, but they don't seem to care)
- Sat outside w/Mom watching them swim, then play basketball, then swing and play on the fort
- Chatted with Mom and Rach about assisted living vs. at-home nurses, etc. for B&G
- Dad brought Johnny Carino's home - ate dinner with Mom, Dad, and Babah
- Hugged everyone then drove back to Tulsa
- Resting and writing this blog
I'm tired and don't feel like writing for too long. Today included some nice, light moments as well as some heavy, difficult conversations. Life tends to be a mixture, and sometimes we have to work harder to let the light shine in the darkness. (If I haven't said it here yet, Babah fell and broke her shoulder over a week ago and has been staying with my parents, and she needs more help than they are able to provide right now, so something needs to change very soon.)
This was not a typical Mother's Day for us, but I'm very thankful for my Mom! ❤ I hope you've had a lovely Sunday. I'm tired, so that's all I'm gonna write for now.
Here are a few photos from today:
