Day 14 ~ Memory

Today = My earliest memory.

Childhood memories can be tricky.  The photos and videos you've seen and the stories you've heard people repeat get mingled in with the things you actually remember independently.  Long-term memory doesn't develop until around age 4, so the stuff you think you remember before that is likely from a photo or story. ❤

The early memories that stick out to me that I wouldn't have heard from anyone are all very introverty things. lol  There was a set of 3 barrels filled with little rocks at the Edmond park we went to, and I liked to get inside the tallest one and hide out there for a bit.  I loved to climb on top of the monkey bars and look over at the horses in the yard that backed up to ours, then lay down and look up at the clouds. =)  And finally, tiny 4-year-old Lindsey liked to climb the big tree in our front yard at 304 Three Oaks Drive, the first house I remember living in... (pictured here, thanks to Google images).  I felt proud when I learned to climb it, and I was fascinated by tree sap and undeterred by fear of bugs!  I'd plant myself up there and hang out and watch as Grandad and Rach and Blake played baseball in that front yard (I played sometimes too, but probably preferred the quiet people-watching). lol

Anywho, that's all I've got for today.  Time to get back to work! =)
