CHRISTMAS MEMORIES 2015
This was a fun one... Triston was 8, Carter was 7, Jace was 3, and Kyndal Faith was 2. Mom and Dad had just moved into their current home, and the Parrish fam was living in that same neighborhood. Mom and Dad and I went to their house (which was Mom and Dad's old house) for a lovely Christmas morning brunch of biscuits and gravy + pancakes, bacon, and eggs. One of their neighbors had brought sweet gifts for the kids, including this doll for the Miss K, and she was a big fan! ❤
Rach joined Courtney in a booth at the Indie Trunk Show to sell her wreaths that year. Bill and Jill came by to see the progress on the house just before Mom and Dad officially moved in that December... PF Changs dinner with Lindsay's lifegroup... and Miss Scarlett's Tea Room to celebrate Laura's birthday (I miss that place)!
The women's lifegroup events included a fun trip to see the Rhema lights (top photos), then singing Christmas carols at Saint Simeon's, accompanied by our Jazzaguy, Jeffrey Edward! lol
The six of us had a very fun trip to Talequah... including Sam n' Ella's pizza, fun in the park, and Drip Coffee House!
The Christmas Eve festivities were at JoBug's that year... here's our group pic in front of their tree!
Dinner was at El Chico, a classic throwback favorite for the O'Brien fam, who were "Patrons of the Year" there in 1995! lol And on the right is JoBug's Christmas tree and all the presents!
Jace was sporting his "I ❤ Grandad" sweatshirt. Rach had on her light-up earrings! Jace volunteered to say our pre-dinner prayer for us whilst Kyndal Faith was peeking, ready to get on with the mac n' cheese! lol
K-Faith and her doll, K-Faith being a doll, sister pic at El Chico, and another classic Jace and Grandad chat! lol
Eileen's cookies + fun with hats + the boys pretending to be dogs + Christmas morning pancakes!
A pic with their four great-grandkids!
Cousins - Me, Rachael, Blake, and Emily... sitting on the fireplace hearth! Then it's all of us holding our annual De-Icer gift from Grandad!!
That year, the usual De-Icer had a surprise check tied to it... an exceptionally generous $10K gift from what they had saved for each of their grandkids!! It was exciting and touching and unexpected, and a moment I'm really thankful they got to share with us while they were able to enjoy it, too! When we were "done" taking all the group pictures, I heard Grandad quietly say to Babah that he wished we'd gotten one of us with our checks, so I talked to Mom and we made that happen!!
And of course, a pic of the four of us with our grandparents!
I'll end with some pics of the preshface Miss K. Josh and Jace were outside popping some firecrackers, trying to bring a 4th of July feeling to Christmas morning. lol Kyndal was a woman of few words at that age. She was sitting next to me and turned around with her hands on her little ears and said, "Loud! Xare me." Gah, is she not the most adorable thing ever!? lol The bottom pics are her feelin' cute because she went and put on some shoes that matched her doll. ❤❤❤
